  • Summary

    For a full lunar cycle, I wandered along the streets and alleyways of Japan, across almost four hundred kilometers. There, I invited my­self to the autumnal daily lives of nine cities that became the stops of my journey. As if on a treasure hunt, from Fukushima to Hiroshima, I caught on film the colorful clues I stumbled upon on fluke, trying to absorb them. Surprisingly, I never got lost. As I treaded between colors, signs, and improvised and often mimed conversations, everything made sense.

     

    Durant un cycle complet de lune, j’ai arpenté, sur près de quatre cents kilomètres, rues et ruelles nippones, m’invitant dans le quotidien autom­nal de neuf villes-étapes. Comme dans un jeu de piste, de Fukushima à Hiroshima, j’ai saisi, pour mieux m’en impré­gner, les indices colorés que je débusquais au hasard de mes pas.
    Étrangement, je ne suis pas parvenue à me perdre. Au travers des couleurs, des signes, des discussions improvisées, souvent mimées, tout faisait sens.
